If you are registered for the Mission HPDE Day April 17th, you will want to attend this great training opportunity at Axon Racing Simulators.
We have the opportunity to visit Axon Sim Centres in Richmond to do some practice with Sim/HPDE instructors on hand prior to the Mission HPDE event on April 17th. Axon has full motion Racing simulators, and has Mission Raceway in their database. It is proven that using Sim before seeing the track in real life will greatly improve your performance on track.
The Axon team consists of a number of staff who compete in high level tiers of Sim Racing and are also track and autocross drivers in real life. They will have instructors on hand. This will be set up as a training session strictly for training and instruction of Mission Raceway. If you are not registered for the MissionHPDE Track day, we ask that you leave this event open for those that are.
Although Sim cannot replicate the exact sensation of being in a real car on track, it does come pretty close. The benefits the sim will teach you are:
Apexes, how to enter and exit them.
Track visuals, what you can expect to see and where to be looking. If you have never driven on track, this is very important.
Braking zones, where to be on the brakes and when.
Speed and gearing, Where to be on the gas, and what gear to be in. (The Sim most likely has your model of Porsche or very close. So this aspect will be very realistic.)
We have 20 spots available divided into two, one hour long sessions. So ten drivers in a session for an hour of Sim and instruction.
The cost is $60/person.
Registration is required on our club website. You must be logged in to the website in order to register. Please do not call Axon, as they cannot help you register for this event.
Once again, if you are not participating in the Mission HPDE Track Day, we ask that you do not register for this training session. This is not a club social Sim event.
Closer to the event you will receive an email with which group and start time you will have. As mentioned there will be two sessions.
