Notes to all participants
Driver and passenger(s) must attend the mandatory driver's meeting.
All attendees must sign the club event waiver available at the start location.
This drive will be run in multiple groups of 5 or 6 cars.
********* IMPORTANT *********
*** DOWNLOAD OFFLINE MAPS ***
Offline maps do not require a data plan and do not rely on a cellular signal.
NOTE: you WILL lose cellular connection on this drive and the background map is needed.
The Offline Map is the background map of all streets in the area selected.
1 - Launch the Google Maps app on your phone.
3 - Tap "Offline Maps".
4 - Tap on the settings icon (gear shape) and set your preferences ("download over wifi only" for example)
5 - Tap "Select Your Own Map" and select an area that covers your entire driving route
6 - Tap "Download". The map should take less than a minute to download to your phone.
7 - You're done downloading!
TURN-BY-TURN DIRECTIONS ON YOUR PHONE
Google Maps route link will be emailed to registrants 48 hrs and 24 hrs prior to event.
Route link automatically downloads "destinations" of waypoints only, not the street maps.
See above notes and download the area street maps for offline use.
You WILL lose cellular signal, the map will no longer function if offline maps not installed.
Google Maps directs you from destination to destination on the fastest route possible with turn-by-turn instructions.
NAVIGATE HANDS FREE!
Ensure turn-by-turn directions can be clearly heard.
Earbud, Bluetooth, Android Auto or Apple Car Play all work.
Phone must be firmly mounted hands free or operated by the passenger.
USING THE MAP
1 - Ensure phone LOCATION is turned on (for the GPS to function).
Your phone can now map even in airplane mode if offline maps downloaded.
2 - Click on the route map link emailed to you.
3 - The map will open and you can preview the route.
4 - When at the actual start area, click on the "Start" button.
Route map will not show the "start" button until you are physically at the start.
5 - Follow turn-by-turn directions
6 - Must tap "CONTINUE" at each destination waypoint along the route
